RECORDS RESEARCH POLICY - No research services will be provided by the Public Assistance staff beyond the initial 15 minute courtesy search. Requestors requiring more than 15 minutes of research service will need to pursue other alternatives.
STATUS PLATS AND SURVEY PLATS are available for the states of Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The following types of plats are available:
|$4.20 ea.||$1.10 ea.||Master Title Plat is a composite of all the survey plats for a township with official and current land/mineral status shown.|
|$4.20 ea.||$1.10 ea.||Use Plats are created to show Oil and Gas, Geothermal, Coal, and other mineral use notations. They show status of minerals, leases issued, and pending lease applications. Use plats do not show the location of unpatented mining claims. Order by specific mineral. |
|N/A||$1.10 ea.||Historical Index (HI) is a chronological listing of all Federal actions, patents, leases, etc., on a specific township. There may be several HI's for each township and range.|
|$1.10 ea.||Cadastral Survey Plat is the official survey plat showing lot sizes and locations, mineral surveys, and bearings and distances of the surveyed lines. There may be only one survey plat per township; but in some areas, there may be several plats depicting resurveys and segregations of mineral claims.|
