The three subject documents are as follows: 1) AGO Highlights – A narrative summary of BLM’s priority project descriptions with field examples. 2) BLM AGO Implementation Plan – A narrative that identifies BLM’s priority AGO projects and actions in an outline format. 3) AGO Implementation Plan Matrix – A summary table of BLM AGO action items and BLM’s implementation role (Lead, Support, or Assist). Policy/Action: This is a formal request to review the attached AGO documents. Please review and provide recommendations to improve the documents. In addition, please provide input as to how we could improve the documentation and reporting of AGO projects, performance, and partnerships. Timeframe: Please provide any comments to Dave Lefevre, National Landscape Conservation System Program Lead (MT924), by close of business July 18, 2011, for consolidation to WO‑250. Budget Impact: None. Background: On February 16, 2011, President Obama announced the America’s Great Outdoors: A Promise to Future Generations report. Using public comment and input received from listening sessions that were conducted throughout the Nation, the report was compiled by a host of interdepartmental teams. The AGO documents under review represent BLM’s coordinated effort to implement the recommendations from the report. In developing BLM’s Implementation/Action Plan, every effort was made to commit to activities and actions that we are currently implementing. The focus of the entire effort is to promote and expand conservation of our public lands while providing important and diverse outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans.
