Program Area: Range Management–Permit Renewal
Purpose: This Instruction Memorandum (IM) is to request input for the annual 2005 Permit Renewal Report.
Policy/Action: The Washington Office has issued a data-call for the annual 2005 Permit Renewal Report. Please complete the attached form (Attachment 1) to report the number of permits fully processed in Fiscal Year (FY) 2005. According to the Management Information System (MIS), the Montana/Dakotas Bureau of Land Management issued a total of 700 grazing permits in FY 2005. In order to facilitate this report, each office is asked to report how many permit/leases were fully processed (NEPA and appropriate Section 7 ESA completed). The balance will be assumed issued under the Appropriations Act. This request includes permits/leases that expired each year from 1999 through 2005, that were processed in FY 2005.
Timeframe: Send your completed form to Bill McIlvain, Montana State Office Range Program Lead, by COB November 2, 2005.
Background: In order to report to management and Congress as required by the 2004 Appropriations Act, each State is asked to complete this annual report of how many permit/leases were fully processed.
