Subject:      The Gold Book, Fourth Edition, 2006
 
Program Area: Engineering, Oil and Gas and Geothermal onshore operations and energy-related Right-of-Ways (ROWs).
 
Purpose: This Information Bulletin (IB) is published to disseminate the fourth edition, 2006, of the Gold Book publication. Chapter 4 of the Gold Book publication references construction and maintenance standards guidelines related to the various activities relative to oil and gas exploration and development.

Policy: The policy for construction and maintenance activities on BLM lands is found in the 9100 manual series.
 
Action: None
 
Background: The Gold Book publication, a joint effort between the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, provides Oil and Gas Operators with a combination of guidance and standards for ensuring compliance with agency policies and operating requirements.
