Hawken points are elongated with concave to slightly convex bases. They are lenticular in cross-section. Blade edges may be parallel, contracting, or expanding, with the widest point halfway between the tip and base or forward of the mid-point. The extreme tip is slightly elongated to form a needle-sharp, penetrating point. Notches were placed on the sides a short distance from the base. Bases either formed sharp corners with blade edges or else were rounded slightly. Grinding was common on bases and inside the notches. Length range: 69 to 30 mm, width range: 28 to 15 mm, thickness range: 7 to 4.5 mm. Frison, G.C.
