Blackwater Side-Notched 7,800-6,500 B.P.
The projectile point specimens in this group are triangular with straight to convex lateral edges and straight to weakly convex basal edges. Deep, wide side notches are placed near the base and oriented at a low angle toward the tip. The sharply expanding stems have rounded tips. The points are moderately thick and biconvex in cross section. Chipping is good, and all edges are retouched. The basal edges are slightly ground. Length is 39 to 29 mm, width 23 to 21 mm, and thickness 5.5 to 4.5 mm. Husted and Edgar.
