BLM To Conduct Prescribed Fire Near Moon Creek

The Bureau of Land Management will be conducting prescribed burning operations southwest of Miles City in the Moon Creek area; beginning this week and continuing until all of the identified area has been treated.

Approximately 678 acres has been scheduled for burning in order to reduce the threat of future wildfire spreading from BLM-administered lands onto adjacent private lands.

The project area is located 25 miles southwest of Miles City, 21 miles south of I-94 and east of the Moon Creek Road. The burning will be initiated sometime between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. as daily weather conditions permit.

For more information or to get advice about maintaining defensible space in wildland-urban areas call the BLM Miles City Interagency Dispatch Center at (406)233-2900.
