BLM Burning In Barton Gulch Area

The Bureau of Land Management is currently burning several large slash piles generated by the recent BLM Barton Gulch timber sale. The piles are located about six miles east of Ruby Reservoir.

Due to the large size of the piles and heavy fuels, the piles are expected to smolder for several days and smoke may be noticeable from the Ruby Reservoir area.

The prescribed burns will reduce the wildfire hazard while improving wildlife habitat and forest/rangeland health.
