BLM Seeks Input on Lakeview Ski Chalet Proposal

The Dillon Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking input on a proposal by two individuals to use the Lakeview Ski Chalet to enhance their established businesses. The chalet is located in the Centennial Mountains just south of the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

According to the proposal, the chalet would be used in the winter as a base for back-country skiing and for theme-based trips related to history, geography, outdoor skills, photography and writing. The second part of the proposal would use the chalet occasionally for the remainder of the year as a meeting facility.

The applicants have written permission to access the chalet through private lands on existing roads. The BLM is reviewing the proposal and would like public input to identify any issues and concerns related to the proposal.  Please provide comments by May 14 to Rick Waldrup, Dillon Field Office, 1005 Selway Drive, Dillon, MT 59725 or by calling 683-8000. You may also email comments to MT_Dillon_FO@blm.gov. Please put Lakeview Ski Chalet in the subject line.
