Date:  May 15, 2008 Contact:  Mary Apple (406) 896-5258  Resource Advisory Councils Schedule Combined Meeting   All four of the BLM Montana/Dakotas Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) will meet jointly in Billings May 20-21. The joint meeting will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on May 20 and from 8 a.m. to noon on May 21 at the Hampton Inn, 5110 Southgate Drive. Topics to be discussed include energy development, off-highway vehicle use, access, planning, and recreation fees. A public comment period will take place at 3:30 p.m. on May 20. All four RACs will also hold individual meetings. The Central Montana RAC will meet at 8 a.m. on May 20 at the BLM Montana State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive. A public comment period will take place at 8 a.m. The Eastern Montana RAC will meet on May 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the BLM Montana State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive. The public comment period will be at 1 p.m. The Western Montana RAC will meet on May 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 5110 Southgate Drive. The public comment period will be at 1 p.m. The Dakotas RAC will meet on May 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the BLM Montana State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive. The public comment period will be at 1 p.m. The four 15-member RACs advise the Secretary of the Interior, through the Bureau of Land Management, on a variety of planning and management issues associated with public lands in Montana and the Dakotas.   For more information on the RAC meetings, contact your local BLM office. ###
