Central Montana RAC to Meet in Lewistown
The Bureau of Land Management’s Central Montana Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet February 5 & 6, 2008, at the Yogo Inn (211 E. Main) in Lewistown, Montana.
The February 5 meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a 30-minute public comment period. The council will then review the minutes of their preceding meeting; discuss the consensus format; review their 2008 work plan; conduct an orientation session for current and new members; elect a chair for the coming year; and hear field manager updates from Malta, Great Falls and Lewistown.
The February 6 meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a 30-minute public comment period. The RAC will then consider recommendations from the Judith-Moccasin travel plan subgroup; hear a U.S. Forest Service discussion of a fee proposal template; and hear presentations concerning oil and gas development on public land, the monument resource management plan and watershed planning. The council will then consider administrative issues concerning their next meeting (dates, location, etc.).
The Central Montana Resource Advisory Council is a 15-member citizen advisory council that meets about every three months at various locations throughout north central Montana. This council advises the BLM concerning a wide array of public resource issues.
The public is encouraged to attend these council meetings and a public comment period is provided at the beginning of each meeting.
