Date: February 1, 2008 Contact: Craig Flentie (406) 538-1943 Protest Period Determined for the Monument Resource Management Plan The Bureau of Land Management has announced that the protest period for the recently released Proposed Resource Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement (RMP/EIS) for the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument began on February 1, and will run through March 4, 2008. Those dates were established in a Federal Register notice that ran on February 1, 2008. Protests on the Proposed RMP and Final EIS should be sent to the Director of the BLM and instructions for filing protests are described in the Dear Reader letter of the Proposed RMP/EIS. At the conclusion of the protest period, a Record of Decision can be issued, pending the resolution of any protests.
