Crobsy Brings Lewis and Clark to Students
It was a busy week for Mike Crosby.

Mike is a noted Lewis & Clark historian from Salmon, Idaho, who recently entertained and informed over 770 central Montana youngsters and adults about the plants, animals and Native American cultures encountered by Lewis and Clark during their epic journey across the American West in the early 1800s.

Crosby recently made multiple presentations in the Moore and Grass Range schools and at the Lewis & Clark, Highland Park and Garfield schools in Lewistown.

Each presentation was a great combination of information and hands-on opportunities for youngsters and adults alike featuring the hides, skulls and horns of numerous animals common of the day, plants the captains found along the way, and medicine samples and the surveying equipment used on the expedition.

Mike will be traveling across Montana, presenting at numerous schools during the coming months.

During his stay in central Montana, Mike also made several presentations during an open house at the BLM’s Lewistown Field Office. The presentation was titled Lewis & Clark’s Traveling Medicine Show and featured samples of the medicines and medical equipment used during the expedition.

When not traveling and presenting about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Mike works as a Lewis and Clark historian at the Sacajawea Interpretive Center in Salmon.
