National Public Lands Day Set for September 8 at Schnell Recreation Area
National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is set for Saturday, September 8, at Schnell Recreation Area three miles east of Richardton, N.D. It starts at 9 a.m. and concludes by early afternoon.
Volunteers of all ages will have the opportunity to help perform post-season maintenance such as mulching, watering trees, and trail work. Trail maintenance will consist of laying and compacting gravel. We will also build picnic tables and trash can holders.
The Bureau of Land Management will supply lunch and NPLD 2007 T-shirts to all participants.
NPLD is a partnership among land agencies, the business community and volunteers, and is the largest nationwide volunteer workday for America’s parks, forest, refuges, lakeshore, grasslands and historic sites.
Everyone is welcome to attend. If you have questions contact Angela Wetz, North Dakota Field Office, 701-227-7700.
