HUNTING SEASON EXTENSIONThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Dillon will not close the roads normally scheduled to close on December 1 in hunting districts affected by the extension of elk hunting season. “The affected roads will remain open through December 9 or until Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (MT FWP) closes the elk hunting,” stated Rick Waldrup, BLM outdoor recreation planner. December 1 road closures will occur as scheduled in those hunting districts not included in FWP’s elk season extension. Hunters are encouraged to check the MT FWP web site at http://fwp.mt.gov/hunting/ to see what hunting districts are extended and to monitor closure information.
