Central Montana RAC to Meet in Lewistown
The Bureau of land Management’s Central Montana Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet July 18 & 19, 2007, at the Lewistown Field Office, at 920 NE Main in Lewistown.
The July 18 meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a 30-minute public comment period. The RAC will then depart for a field trip to the Judith Mountains to discuss travel planning. Around 4:30, the group will return to the Lewistown Field Office to discuss the day’s tour and issues surrounding travel planning. This meeting will adjourn around 5:30 p.m.
The July 19 meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a 30-minute public comment period. The RAC will then hear presentations or take action on oil and gas issues and planning, the Bear Paw South Environmental Impact Statement, the fundamentals of U.S. Forest Service fee proposals, law enforcement issues, and BLM grazing rules. The group will then address administrative issues (their next meeting agenda and location, etc.). This meeting will adjourn around 3:00 p.m.
The Central Montana Resource Advisory Council is a 15-member citizen advisory council that meets about every three months at various locations throughout north central Montana. This council advises the BLM concerning a wide array of public resource issues.
