BLM to Host Public Meetings in Butte and Divide
The Bureau of Land Management is hosting a series of open-house style public meetings to provide information and ask for comments on the recently released Draft Butte Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (Draft RMP/EIS). Two of the six scheduled meetings will be held in Butte and Divide.
The Butte meeting will be held July 19 at the BLM Office Conference Room, 106 North Parkmont. The meeting in Divide is July 24 at the Grange Hall. The meetings are from 7-9 pm.
The Draft RMP/EIS will provide management direction for more than 300,000 surface acres of BLM administered lands in the eight counties within the Butte Field Office planning area. The public has until September 6 to review the draft plan and submit comments to BLM. Copies of the document were sent to interested parties previously requesting one.
Reading copies of the Draft RMP/EIS are available for review at local libraries. The document can also be viewed on the Butte Field Office website at http://www.blm.gov/mt/st/en/fo/butte_field_office.html. Copies are available in either paper copy or compact disk (CD) format and may be requested by contacting Tim La Marr at 533-7645 or Traci Scott at 533-7649 at the BLM Butte Field Office, or by email request at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Other public meetings will be held in Helena, Townsend, Boulder, and Bozeman.
