Date:  August 29, 2007 Contact:  Marilyn Krause, 406-533-7617   BLM to Transfer Acreage to Beaverhead County for Shooting Range  Beaverhead County will be the recipient of nearly 170 acres from the Bureau of Land Management under the Recreation and Public Purposes Act. The County will work with the Dillon Rifle and Pistol Club to maintain a public shooting range in Beaverhead County.   BLM will present the land patent to the Commissioners on September 10 at 2 p.m. at the shooting range located approximately six miles northwest of Dillon just off the Ten Mile Road.   The Recreation and Public Purposes Act allows city and county governments to acquire BLM administered land to use for public benefits such as recreation facilities, schools or hospitals.    For more information, contact Angela Brown at the Dillon BLM office, (406) 683-8045.   -30-
