Miles City BLM Announces Rescheduled SEIS Meetings
The Bureau of Land Management has rescheduled the public meetings for Hardin, Lame Deer and Miles City that were previously cancelled due to bad weather.
The public meetings are intended to gather comments on the Draft Supplemental Oil and Gas Environmental Impact Statement which evaluates the effects of phased development of coal bed natural gas in southeastern Montana.
On April 17, meeting locations are in Hardin, at the Bighorn County Courthouse basement meeting room, 1:00-3:00 p.m. and at Lame Deer, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church meeting room, 6:00-8:00 p.m. On April 19, the Miles City meeting will be at the BLM Miles City Field Office main conference room, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The meetings will be held in an “open house” format with BLM managers and resource specialists available to answer questions concerning the document. Forms and a court reporter will be available at each meeting for persons wishing to submit comments.
Comments may also be submitted in written form and mailed to the following address: Draft SEIS, P.O. Box 219, Miles City, MT, 59301. Interested parties have until May 2, 2007, to comment on the draft document.
