The Eastern Montana Fire Zone (EMFZ) is supported by a dispatch center, air base, cache and five fire stations. The Miles City Interagency Dispatch Center is staffed with the following BLM personnel: Fire Management Officer (FMO), two Assistant Fire Management Officers (AFMO), Center Manager, Assistant Center Manager, four Initial Attack Dispatchers, Logistics Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Fire Mitigation & Education Specialist, Unit Aviation Manager, Helicopter Supervisor, Fuels Program Manager, three Fuels Technicians, and a Fire Operations Supervisor. The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation staffs a Fire Program Manager, Training Coordinator and Initial Attack Dispatcher in the dispatch center. The EMFZ has a helibase as well as a fixed wing/jump base at Miles City’s Frank Wiley Air Field.
