Ruby Creek Recreation Area

The Ruby Creek Recreation Area is located on the Upper Madison River. The campground has 22 camping sites, with a separate boat launch and parking area nearby. There is a seasonal volunteer campground host on site. Activities: Fishing, floating, sightseeing, wildlife viewing, hiking and camping. Facilities: Three accessible vault toilets, boat ramp, 22 campsites and drinking water. Location/Access: Located about 20 miles south of Ennis, off US Highway 287. Turn west off US Highway 287 at Johnny Gulch Rd., travel 3 miles and the campgrounds will be on the left hand side prior to the T in the road. Take a left at the T to access the day use and boat launch, which will be on the left shortly after the T. Fees: $8/night, $5 per additional vehicle. Maximum of 3 vehicles per site. No fees for boat launches or day use. No reservations required/available. Must occupy campsites nightly. Season/Hours: Fees are required from May 1 through December 1, annually.
