Firewood Permits

Firewood Cutting Permits are available at the Butte Field Office.

- The cost is $5 per cord with a minimum purchase of 4 cords ($20 minimum charge)

- There is also a 12 cord maximum per person, per year

- Permits allow the cutting of dead trees only Cutting of live trees is prohibited

- Permits are valid from April 1st until the following March 31st, regardless of purchase date
   (for example if a permit is purchased on March 30th it will expire on March 31st)

- Conditions regulating permit use are printed on the back of the permit itself with additional
   conditions contained on information sheets handed out at time of purchase
