As part of the RMP process, the Billings Field Office is sponsoring an economic workshop January 13, 2009, at the BLM State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive, Billings, Montana. The workshop will start at 9 a.m. and adjourn by 4 p.m. The BLM has invited city/county planners, county commissioners, and others who work in economic development in the planning area to attend the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop is to illustrate BLM land uses that influence local/regional economic activity and describe the dependency of the local/regional economy on BLM lands and minerals management. This workshop is an excellent way to promote understanding of how the economic analysis fits into the BLM planning process. This workshop will help focus the vision for BLM public land management in south-central Montana. Click here to see the agenda.
