Tower Rock Recreation Site

The Lewis & Clark Expedition camped at the Tower Rock site, along the main Salmon River.  Today, the site offers prime river access for floaters and steelhead and trout fishermen.  Camping and picnic sites are also available, and the area makes a great stopping point for scenic drivers.

Directions: north of Salmon, Idaho on Highway 93. Take Highway 93 north from Salmon, Idaho approximately 10 miles. The campground is on your left next to the river.

Facilities/Fees:

  • Developed campground with 6 sites; $5.00/night; $3-Golden Access Passport holders; $2/extra vehicle
  • RV sites (no hookups)
  • Restrooms
  • Picnic pavilion ($20/day reservation fee)
  • Boat ramp
  • No drinking water
