Special Status Plants of Owyhee County

The species described below are known to occur on BLM-managed rangelands in western Owyhee County (the BLM Owyhee Field Office), in the area covered by the environmental impact statement (EIS) for grazing permit renewal for the Jump Creek, Succor Creek and Cow Creek drainages — the Chipmunk Group of 25 livestock grazing allotments.

The BLM status-type estimates the risk of elimination of an occurence of each plant.  The Idaho Fish and Wildlife Information System (Idaho Dept. of Fish & Game, 2011) is the source of information on threats to each plant species, as well as occurrence data used in the EIS.

The BLM manages these and other special-status species and their habitats to increase or maintain populations at levels where their existence is no longer threatened and so there will be no need for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
