A veterinarian assessed the mare and concluded that her legs had been previously broken, (possibly from a vehicle accident) and that the chronic/pre-existing condition was causing significant pain, had permanent structural damage, and was impacting her quality of life. The only humane course of action was to euthanize the mare, which was completed by the veterinarian on October 27, 2012.
