There are six commercial outfitters authorized to float the East and South Forks of the Owyhee River.

Detailed maps are available at BLM Idaho Offices for the West's popular destinations, such as the Owyhee River, Bruneau River, South Fork of the Snake River, Snake River in Hells Canyon, the middle and main forks of the Salmon River and the Lower Salmon River. Most guides cost $10 or more and provide detailed maps, photos and critical information about each location.
- BOATERS - BE AWARE OF A NEW STATE LAW!
The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration Under the new law, any boat that is registered in Idaho or another state, and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) will be required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho. Inflatable, non-motorized vessels must be less than 10 feet in length to be exempted from this requirement.
