Travel Management Planning Process

The BLM is developing a travel management plan (TMP) for the North Highway 20 area.  This TMP will amend the 1981 Sun Valley Management Framework Plan Off-Highway Vehicle Area Designations. BLM will analyze the TMP and document it according to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) through an Environmental Assessment (EA). The EA is estimated to be completed by December 2012. Comments from the initial scoping period will be used to help formulate alternatives and ensure issues are addressed in the EA. Once the analysis is complete, the BLM will solicit comments for a 30-day public comment period. Comments will be addressed prior to making the final decision. There will be an opportunity to protest the analysis prior to the final decision and once the final decision is made, there will be an opportunity to appeal the decision.
