Idaho Statute Definition - "All-terrain vehicle" or "ATV" means any recreation vehicle with three or more tires, weighing under 900 pounds, 50 inches or less in width, having a wheelbase of 61 inches or less, traveling on low-pressure tires of 10 psi or less, has handlebar steering and a seat designed to be straddled by the operator.”

These restrictions may be of any type, but can generally be accommodated within the following type of categories: Numbers of vehicles; types of vehicles; time or season of vehicle use; permitted or licensed use only; use on existing roads and trails; use on designated roads and trails; and other restrictions.

Managed for use by low-clearance vehicles having four or more wheels, and maintained for regular and continuous use
routeIncludes all linear features such as roads, primitive roads and trails

trail

linear route managed for human-powered, stock, or off-highway vehicle forms of transportation or for historical or heritage values. Trails are not generally managed for use by four-wheel drive or high-clearance vehicles.

travel management plan

part of the resource management plan (RMP) for an area of BLM-managed land that addresses the modes and conditions of travel associated with all resource uses, including recreational, traditional, casual, agricultural, commercial, and educational
