If a Rangeland Health Standard is not being met due to livestock grazing activity and significant progress toward the Standard is not evident, then the BLM must adjust grazing management on the allotment. 

Guidelines direct the selection of grazing management practices — 
and where appropriate, livestock management facilities — to promote attainment and maintenance of, or significant progress toward, Standards.  Practices and/or facilities are applied locally, within an allotment or watershed.

Grazing management practices, or livestock management techniques, include manipulation of season, time-duration, intensity of use; and numbers, distribution, and kind of livestock. Livestock management facilities such as fences, corrals, and ponds, springs, troughs, etc.) facilitate application of management practices.
