Cadastral Surveyors currently use the static method of data collecting to do control surveys in areas with a canopy or in narrow canyons.
Real Time Kinematic (RTK) methods of collecting data are also used to do entire surveys in areas that do not have canopy. This has allowed the reduction in size of survey crews.
Control is also established for users of Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), photogrammetry, and resource grade receivers to locate and map a wide variety of features. Some of the many different types of sites located are:
Archaeological and Historical Sites
→Native Camp Sites
→The Oregon Trail
Vegetation Study Areas
The Idaho GPS Data Dictionaries have been added.
A program contained in llx2gps.zip will convert a GCDB line file to a coordinate file that can be uploaded to a Rockwell PLGR or Trimble GPS receiver.
