SALMON, ID: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salmon Field Office will be installing culverts and conducting road maintenance activities along the Baldy Basin and Dipping Vat roads located approximately 20 miles south of Salmon, Idaho. These roads are located off of the main McDevitt Creek Road. The Salmon Field Office will also be working on the McFarland Blvd. Road located approximately 20 miles south of Leadore, Idaho. Work will continue on these roads through October 31, 2009. The work schedule will be Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. For the duration of this period, delays of up to two hours should be anticipated along the Baldy Basin Road, Dipping Vat Road and the McFarland Blvd Road. The public is advised to use caution and slow down when traveling in this area. Maintenance crews will be working on the roadway, and this will include hauling gravel with large belly dump trucks. The Salmon Field Office apologizes for any inconvenience this may bring to visitors in the area. This timeframe is simply an estimate; work may be completed sooner. For more information please contact Gloria Jakovac at 208-756-5421 or the Salmon Field Office at 208-756-5400. The BLM manages more land - 253 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, and energy production, and by conserving natural, historical, cultural, and other resources on public lands. |
