Wildfire and Weeds Workshop
Project Learning Tree Workshop for School Teachers

IDAHO FALLS, ID – Project Learning Tree invites school teachers to attend a Wildfire and Weeds Workshop to investigate two of today’s hottest environmental issues – wildfires and invasive species.  Rarely does a week go by without hearing a news report about either of these topics.

The workshop, which is for school teachers, pre-kindergarten through 12th Grade, will be held June 5-6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bonneville County Extension Office, 2925 Rollendet Avenue, Idaho Falls.  Project Learning Tree and the Bureau of Land Management Idaho Falls District Office are facilitating the workshop.

Project Learning Tree is an award-winning education program that uses forests and trees as "windows" on the world.  By attending this workshop, teachers will receive good information and fun educational activities, including speakers and field trips, to help the students learn about relevant environmental issues. Those attending will earn one graduate professional education credit, with a minimal fee, from either BYU/I, ISU, UI or NNU.  Credit registration and payment will take place during the workshop.

To sign up, please mail a check in the amount of $20 for the workshop fee payable to “Project Learning Tree” to the following address:  Deycie Luke, EIVIC, 630 W Broadway, Idaho Falls, ID  83402.  Please include a note with your name, address, phone number, email and the grade level/subject(s) you teach.  The fee is refundable if you cancel.  When you sign up, we will email you detailed workshop information.
