BLM to Host Interactive Community Workshop

TWIN FALLS, ID – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Jarbidge Field Office isseeking input from local residents, communities and stakeholders regarding potential economicissues to be considered during the Jarbidge Resource Management Planning (RMP) effort. Tohelp gather this information, the BLM has partnered with Dick Gardner, the principal consultantat Bootstrap Solutions, to host an all-day interactive workshop.

The public is invited to the workshop, which will be held Wednesday, September 20,2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in Glenns Ferry, ID.

This workshop will focus on exploring ways the BLM can make positive economicdevelopment contributions within the context of balanced use in the Jarbidge RMP area. Theobjectives of the workshop are to:

• Help local leaders understand the RMP process.
Help local community leaders better understand the impact of the Jarbidge Field Officeon their economy and community.
Discuss local visions for a desired future of the Jarbidge Field Office and brainstorm howBLM can support community efforts to achieve that desired future.
Gain a better understanding of the flows of benefits from the Jarbidge RMP area and the purchasing patterns of businesses, residents and users of the Jarbidge.
