Volunteering with the BLM in Idaho

The BLM-Idaho relies on volunteers to help accomplish important work on our public lands, using a wide range of skills and interests.  You can work individually or as part of a group, and projects can be one-day commitments or longer-term adventures.  

In 2012, BLM-Idaho utilized nearly 2,300 volunteers totaling nearly 40,000 work hours, saving the BLM an approximate value of over $900,000.  What did these volunteers do to better our public lands? They led cave expeditions, excavated an archaelogical site, hosted campgrounds across the state, designed interpretive exhibits at public sites, built trailheads, cleaned up litter from popular and heavily used recreation areas, collected native seed used to restore local plant communities,  and cleaned up trash from the Lower Salmon River.
