Wolf Flats

Wolf Flats is a dispersed, undeveloped camping area with 25 locations to camp.  Some areas are large enough to accomodate groups of 50 people.*  MAP of designated campsites 

Location: 40 minutes east of Idaho Falls; 6 miles past Heise Hot Springs off the Snake River Road

Fees/Facilities:

  • No fees
  • Pack out toilet paper and trash.
  • Do not burn metals, glass, or plastic in the fire pits.
  • Do not cut down trees.
  • Only use dead or downed wood (only small diameter).
  • Do not create new camping areas by driving into the vegetation on non-designated routes. 
  • Portable toilets are located in the large main site during the summer months.

BOATERS: The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration
Any boat registered in Idaho or another state and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) will be required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho. Inflatable, non-motorized vessels less than 10 feet in length are exempt.
