Stinking Springs is closed to all motorized vehicles and human entry to protect critical mule deer wintering habitat through May 1, 2011. MAP | News release

The Stinking Springs Multiple Use Trail is a designated route for OHV/ATV riders, hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.  Around 10,000 visitors use the area each year.  It is seasonally closed to accommodate wintering mule deer.  In other seasons, this critical winter habitat also offers desert hiking in sparsely timbered canyons, continuing through the Targhee National Forest.

Location: Two miles northeast of the junction of Kelly Canyon and Snake River Roads. 
Cross Heise Bridge, continue towards Kelly Canyon. Exit at Snake River Road, follow along north bank of Snake River for approximately two miles.

• Use season: May 1 - November 30

BOATERS: The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration
Any boat registered in Idaho or another state and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) is required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho.  Inflatable, non-motorized vessels less than 10 feet in length are exempt.
