Stinking Springs Multiple Use Area

Stinking Springs Multiple Use Trail is a designated route for OHV and ATV enthusiasts, hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. This area is seasonally closed due to the critical mule deer wintering habitat.  The area receives around 10,000 visitors annually.  This mule deer winter habitat also offers desert hiking within sparse timbered canyons, continuing through the Targhee National Forest.

Location:

Two miles northeast of junction of Kelly Canyon and Snake River Roads. 

Cross Heise Bridge, continue towards Kelly Canyon. Exit at Snake River Road, follow along north bank of Snake River for approximately two miles.

Fees/Facilities:

  • No fees
  • Hiking level: Moderate to difficult
  • Use season: May 1 - November 30
