Kelly Island Campground

Kelly Island Campground will open on May 18.

Scenic, semi-developed camping in a cottonwood gallery forest along the South Fork of the Snake River with views of the Snake River Range foothills. Excellent trout fishing along with hiking, boating, wildlife viewing and OHV riding opportunities nearby.

Location: Approximately 23 miles northeast of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Cross Heise bridge, continue towards Kelly Canyon.  Exit at Snake River Road, follow along north bank of the South Fork for approximately one-half mile.

Fees/Facilities:

  • 14 campsites ($10/night for single, $20/night for double) and 1 group site (accommodates around 35 people). Group site reservable; all others first come, first served.
  • Pull-through sites
  • Vault toilets
  • Fire pits
  • Drinking water
  • Day use area
  • Campground hosts
  • No firearms or all-terrain vehicles (ATVs)
  • Approximate use season: Mid-May to mid/late September. Contact the Eastern Idaho Visitor Information Center (EIVIC) at 630 W. Broadway, Idaho Falls, (208) 523-1012 for more information or to make group site reservations. Maps of the area and boater’s guides are also available for purchase at the EIVIC.

BOATERS:
The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration
Any boat registered in Idaho or another state, and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) is required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho.  Inflatable, non-motorized vessels less than 10 feet in length are exempt.
