OHV information - Be informed and ride safe

Twin Falls District Fire and Aviation Spreading the Word about Fireworks:  Idaho BLM Twin Falls District Fire Prevention Specialists are traveling across the south central Idaho area this week, posting Idaho Fire Prevention Orders and visiting stands where fireworks are being sold.  The Idaho Fire Prevention Order, signed by Idaho State Director Tom Dyer, details prohibited fireworks, guns, ammunition, targets and burning that are illegal on public lands. Twin Falls District will also participate in multiple Independence Day events across the Magic Valley, sharing prevention and safety information with area citizens.

Gem State Grotto Creates New Cave Trailer for the Shoshone FO:  Fifteen volunteers from the Gem State Grotto of Boise and the Silver Sage Grotto of Twin Falls teamed up for a hard day’s work in the desert this past Saturday to repair a vandalized bat gate on Spider Cave on the Shoshone FO.  In addition to repairing the gate, Gem State Grotto delivered the Cave Trailer to Shoshone Outdoor Recreation Planner David Freiberg.  The Cave Trailer is a volunteer project funded by BLM during the past two years.  Designed by Jim Hathorn of the Gem State Grotto, the covered trailer is equipped with a welder, compressor and generator and is a self-contained unit able to provide full support for cave gate construction, cave gate repair, sand-blasting for graffiti removal up to 400 feet into any cave and a variety of other much-needed cave maintenance jobs.
