Blackfoot River Campgrounds
From north to south, Trail Creek, Morgan's Bridge, Graves Creek, Cutthroat and Sagehen are developed campgrounds along the Blackfoot River. Opportunities abound for fishing, camping and non-motorized boating. Waterfowl hunting is accesssible at Morgan's Bridge.

Fishing the Blackfoot River
The section of the Blackfoot River from Government Dam to Trail Creek Bridge is a distance of 23 river miles. This section of river is floatable in a canoe, kayak, small raft or small drift boat. Put-ins and take-outs are undeveloped. Floating is not recommended below Trail Creek Bridge due to extreme white-water conditions, including Class IV, V, and VI (not runnable) rapids.
The Blackfoot River below Government Dam flows through rolling hills, canyon sections, and the scenery is breath-taking. Typical summer water flows range from 200 to 800 c.f.s. The river is full of rock gardens and boulders and generally cannot be floated of flows drop below 100 c.f.s. There are several Class II and a few Class III rapids that require some skill in order to navigate when floating.
The BLM manages five semi-developed campgrounds along this section of river that provide basic facilities and opportunities for shoreline fishing. These campgrounds are located on the map. Good luck fishing!
