General Location: 115 miles southwest of Boise, Idaho.

Natural Features: Scenic areas comprised of steep slopes covered with yellow sagebrush and grasses, plant communities, prehistoric sites and sensitive wildlife species.

Total Acres: 51,632

Acres Supported by BLM for Wilderness Designation: Idaho: 44,955; Nevada: 5,180; Total: 50,135

Rationale for BLM’s Recommendation: Appropriate to maintain the naturalness of the plateaus and canyons in this area to expand the National Wilderness Preservation System.
