Silver City
In 1866, this mining town had 3,000 residents, but today only a handful of people reside in the town. Visitors can enjoy the partially restored historical buildings and old mine sites.
Location: 70 miles southwest of Boise, in the Owyhee Mountains
How to get there: From highway 78 near Murphy, turn off at the Silver City sign. From Jordan Valley on Highway 95 near Sheaville turn off to Silver City.
