Silver City Campground

This campground is located in a partially restored 19th-century mining town.  

Location 
70 miles southwest of Boise in the Owyhee Mountains

Directions 
From Highway 78 near Murphy, turn off at the Silver City sign.  From Jordan Valley on Highway 95 near Sheaville, turn off to Silver City.

Facilities/Fees

• Primitive campsite with six sites
• Two vault toilets
• Picnic tables
• Fire grates
• No potable water
• Unpaved country access roads
• Use season- Memorial Day weekend until November
• Winter access (November 1–June 1) only possible by snowmobiling, skiing or snowshoeing

The water in Jordan Creek, which runs through the campground, may contain mercury from prior mining activity in the area, so caution should be exercised.

In the summer of 2009, the campground toilet was improved using funding allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  A second toilet was installed at the campground in the summer of 2010.
