Jump Creek Canyon

Map | Regional Map | Brochure

A surprising waterfall and lush riparian community filled with waterbirch and red osier dogwood trees.

Visitors can hike the easy quarter-mile Jump Creek Falls Trail or picnic near the rock crevices and meandering stream. Swimmers will find the perfect spot to take a refreshing dip at the base of the falls.

Location: southwest of Marsing, Idaho

From Boise take Interstate 84 West to the Nampa exit for Highway 55 (Exit 33A). Follow Highway 55 through Marsing and on to the junction with US-95. Continue 1.5 miles past the junction and turn left onto Cemetery Road.  Turn left at the intersection with a STOP sign.  The road becomes Jump Creek Road as it continues south.  Just after passing under power transmission lines, the road curves right, through private land - stay on the roadway as it curves back to the left toward the mouth of the canyon.

Poison ivy grows thick in some spots along the creek and trail.

Facilities/Fees:

  • Day use only - open sunrise to sunset
  • Hiking trails
  • One vault toilet
  • Fire grates
  • Parking area
  • No fee

In the fall of 2009, trails and other visitor facilities at the site were improved using funding allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  Crews also remediated graffiti along the canyon trail and on rocks at the falls.
