Juniper Creek Hike

This day-hike provides easy access to the East Fork of the Owyhee River and provides terrain that gradually narrows from a gentle wash to sheer canyon walls through grasses, low brush, rocks and boulders. The trail is approximately 2 ½ miles each way.

Directions:

• From the Garat Pipeline Road, head toward East Fork Owyhee (turn right) from the “Y” intersection with East Fork/South Fork directional sign.
• 4.4 miles from that intersection, and shortly after passing a fence, turn right (north) on a faded jeep road.
• Continue 0.6 miles until the road makes an obvious turn to the right (east), and park.
• Walk west towards the creek.

Precautions:

• Access roads are passable to 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive only when dry.
• Foot traffic only; boulders create impassable passages for stock travel.
• High density of ticks and snakes.
