Craig Mountain

Craig Mountain encompasses over 160,000 acres (available for public recreation) jointly managed and owned by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, BLM, Idaho Department of Lands, Nez Perce Tribe, US Forest Service and the Nature Conservancy. This beautiful area of steep canyons, coniferous forests, grassy slopes and wetland meadows provides habitat for a diversity of animals including at least 133 birds, 47 mammals, 10 reptiles and 7 amphibian species. Common animals seen here include mule deer, whitetail deer, rocky mountain elk, black bear, mountain lion and game birds such as blue grouse, wild turkeys, ruffed grouse, mourning doves and valley quail.
