The Coeur d’Alene Field Office offers visitors unique and outstanding scenic, cultural and geologic values. This popular tourist destination features special places that allow visitors to step back in time to explore historical mine sites or discover spectacular vistas in many beautiful areas. From the stunning shorelines of Lake Coeur d’Alene, the spectacular bald eagle viewing at Mineral Ridge and Wolf Lodge Bay, unique wetland habitat of Gamlin Lake, and the historical significance of the Pulaski Tunnel Site, the Coeur d’Alene Field Office includes a variety of unique and scenic opportunities for visitors to explore.

Glacially-formed Lake Coeur d’ Alene extends over 26 miles long and has more than 100 miles of shoreline. Breath-taking vistas and unique wildlife viewing attract visitors to this Idaho treasure. Bird-watching enthusiasts are likely to catch a glimpse of unique birds. Lake Coeur d’Alene hosts the largest nesting population of osprey in the western United States. Several BLM recreation sites are located along the shores of Coeur d’Alene Lake including Mineral Ridge Scenic Area, Beauty Bay, and Wallace Forest Conservation Area (Blue Creek Bay).
