Popcorn Island

NEW! Construction of New Docks and Floating Restroom Facilities at Popcorn Island to Begin in June and July 

This small, one-acre island on the northern end of Killarney Lake features boat access, vault toilets, one camp unit and one picnic unit.

Directions: About 28 miles southeast from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho:
Boat access only, nearest launch site is Killarney Lake. From Coeur d'Alene take US-90 east for 19 miles to the Rose Lake/St. Maries exit, follow Highway 3 south for 4 miles and take Killarney Lake Road to the right for 3.5 miles.

Facilities/Fees:

  • No fees 
  • Primitive campground 
  • No garbage collection– pack out trash 
  • Boat Access (No dock)
  • Vault toilet 
  • Picnic area 
  • Use season: May through September

BOATERS - BE AWARE OF A NEW STATE LAW!
The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration
Under the new law, any boat that is registered in Idaho or another state, and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) will be required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho. Inflatable, non-motorized vessels must be less than 10 feet in length to be exempted from this requirement.
