Gamlin Lake Recreation Site

A small gravel parking area serves as a trailhead for the 2-mile Gamlin Lake Trail. Difficult undeveloped boat access to the lake for small craft is available off-site. The trail is not groomed and the parking area is not plowed in the winter.

Directions: Turn east onto Sagle Road about 6 miles south of Sandpoint, Idaho.  Proceed approximately 12 miles on Sagle Road and then turn right onto Glengary Road for about 1/2 mile to the parking area.

Facilities/Fees: 

  • No fees 
  • Day use only 
  • Use season: year-round 
  • No garbage collection – pack out trash 
  • Non-motorized boat use/access 
  • Electric motors only when fishing, 10 hp limit (other boating activities) 
  • Vault toilet

BOATERS - BE AWARE OF A NEW STATE LAW!
The Idaho Invasive Species Law and Boater Registration
Under the new law, any boat that is registered in Idaho or another state, and any non-motorized vessel (canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat, etc.) will be required to purchase and display IISF stickers in order to legally launch and operate in Idaho. Inflatable, non-motorized vessels must be less than 10 feet in length to be exempted from this requirement.
